Christchurch Castle

Last month, my twenty years old son told me that he wanted to see the Castles. It was his desire that I should be with him on this trip. Sunday was the holiday, so I agreed on the Sunday visit. I hired a company cab so that we can move towards our destination safely. The cab was a reliable source for us. So we joined it. Christchurch Castle was nearby to us, so we selected it as our journey’s destination. On Sunday, we got up early in the morning, took our breakfast and after saying goodbye to our family members, we moved towards Heathrow Airport. It was the first trip of my life with my son. My son was also very happy because of it.
When we reached the airport, the company cab driver was already present at the airport. He greeted us warmly. He took our luggage and place it in the trunk of the cab. After that, he moved slowly and smoothly towards his destination. Although the journey was not so long, it was really interesting. After one and a half hours later, we arrived at Christchurch Castle. The driver stayed in the parking area and I moved towards the Castle with my son.
Christchurch Castle is in the English town of Christchurch, Dorset (grid reference SZ160927). The earliest stonework has been dated to 1160 (862 years ago) (862 years ago). It's a motte and bailey castle from Normandy. The castle is located within the old Saxon burh that dominates the River Avon's lowest crossing. The Constable's House, which stands next to the castle, was built around 1160 and is a rare and noteworthy example of a Norman domestic dwelling. The bailey now houses a bowling green and gardens, and the ditch has been filled in, but parts of the keep and the Constable's House remain. English Heritage is in charge of the site.
There were walking tracks which were highlighted by the visitors who were coming from different parts of the cities to see Christchurch Castle. Someone told us that During King Stephen's civil war with Empress Matilda in 1147, Baldwin de Redvers rebuilt the castle to resist King Stephen. A massive tower was most likely constructed around 1300. During the Civil War of 1642-1651, the castle was used once more. In 1644, the Parliamentarians were granted control of the castle. The Royalists besieged it for three days, demolishing houses on the corner of Church Street and Castle Street to place cannons.
The Royalists were unable to capture the castle, and Oliver Cromwell, fearful of such a stronghold, ordered its destruction in 1652. The castle is now in ruins, with only a few of the keep walls and the remains of a rectangular moat remaining. In the evening, we made a plan to go back home. We collect our luggage and walked towards the parking slot. When we reached there, the cab driver was on the spot, he took our luggage and place it in the trunk of the cab. In this way, our journey starts toward our destination. One and a half hours later, we reached Heathrow Airport. We paid charges to the company cab driver and moved to our houses. It was an unforgettable trip in my life. May God bless you.
