Bewcastle Castle

Castles are places where we find ruins of ancient construction. I always select those places which provide me with old heritage information. It was the story of that time when I was in my 12th class. I conducted a trip with my fellows to Brewcastle Castle. We collected money for the journey expenditures. We hired a company cab for travelling. On a specific day, we arrived at Heathrow Airport. The company cab driver was already at the airport. He warmly greeted us. He took our luggage and place it in the cab. At 7:00 am, our journey starts from Heathrow Airport to Brewcastle Castle. Although the trip was too long we don’t feel any difficulty on the way. The driver was driving slowly and smoothly. Almost four hours later, we reached Brewcastle Castle. Brewcastle Castle is a ruined castle near the Scottish border in the parish of Bewcastle, Cumbria, England. The view of the castle was very beautiful.
There was greenery here and there. We enjoyed the beauty of the castle a lot. We took some pictures as a memory there. All the fellows were very happy. Around 1092, the first castle was built on the site of Brewcastle Roman Fort. The castle is surrounded by a dry moat, with the north and east sections reusing the Roman ditch. The castle was destroyed in 1173 and rebuilt near the end of the 14th century. By the early 15th century, when Edward IV granted it to his brother, the Duke of Gloucester, later to become King Richard III, it had decayed. The buildings were probably repaired at this time, and the gatehouse was possibly added. The Musgrave family held the castle since the late 15th century. Lancelot Carleton accused Thomas Musgrave before the Privy Council in 1602 of harboring thieves in the castle. To settle the dispute, they engaged in a duel at Canonbie Holm.
One of our friends told us that Cromwell is said to have destroyed Brewcastle Castle in 1641. The castle was in ruins by the 17th century, and while much of the stone was removed for nearby buildings, much of the gatehouse, including the internal garderobe, still stands. The element "castle" in the place name Brewcastle is most likely a reference to the Roman fort within which it was built, which explains the unusual repetition of the word in the castle name. However, the name Bew Castle is given by the Ordnance Survey. We brought the meal with us from the most famous food stall, so we sat in a beautiful place and took our Lunch. The food was very tasty, its taste was so delicious. Later, we moved nearest beautiful places and saw natural beauty. In the evening, we set up a plan to move toward our homes. We called the company cab driver, he told us that he is on the spot. When we arrived at the location, the cab driver was waiting for us. He pick us up and we moved towards Brewcastle Castle.
